A Podcast is one of the latest technology trends in the Real Estate industry. Podcasting was created by former MTV VJ Adam Curry. It is a term that was devised as a way to describe the technology used to push audio content from websites down to consumers, who typically listen to it on their iPod or other audio player that supports mp3 files at their convenience. The term Podcasting is associated with broadcasting. Essentially a Podcast is an audio file containing a broadcast message that can be listened to either directly from a website, or downloaded onto a listening device for later use.
Most recently Podcasting has become popular in the Real Estate industry especially in the Luxury Home Market, where many buyers are shopping online for a home from hundreds or thousands of miles away. A Podcast brings the property to life with a seemingly live audio recording explaining every aspect of the property in detail, from the architecture, landscape, and amenities to all about the neighborhood, culture, and environment.
The Podcasting trend began in 2005 in Miami Florida, by Realtor® Zahara Mossman. Since, Christina Fazzone has implemented this technology in the California Luxury Marketplace. Christina was the first to implement Real Estate Podcasting on the West Coast. This innovative trend has become increasingly popular and has done remarkably well in marketing Luxury Homes to a world-wide audience.
